Overview
This is an opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant, who wants to work Part time for a local business in their friendly, supportive team. Could suit someone who is looking to get back in to accounts too.
Accounts Assistant – What will I be doing?
This role will appeal to someone who enjoys variety and who has the flexibility to adapt to suit the needs of the business with your meticulous attention to detail, a good head for figures and, ideally, 5 years’ experience within a Finance department.
Some of the duties include.
- Credit Control.
- Monitor payments and issue reminder .
- Entering payments.
- Creating invoices / pro forma invoices
- Processing expenses
- Preparing payments runs for invoices & expenses
- Producing accounts (annually & quarterly).
- Collating figures for quarterly VAT returns.
- Maintaining the accounting system.
- Any other duties that may arise from time to time in relation to accounting.
- Running month end reports
Accounts Assistant – What experience do I need?
Worked within a finance environment
Excellent administration and organisational skills
Confident in dealing with figures
Experience of working with accounting software – training will be given on in house software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Methodical, accurate with strong attention to detail

A quick learner who also adapts to change quickly
Good MSO skills, especially Excel
Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions well
Ability to work within a team as well as independently
The ability to multi-task and prioritise workloads

This role is part of a supportive team. It is the ideal opportunity for someone who is a self-starter and passionate about delivering a high level of service. The role is 100% office-based in Letchworth Monday to Thursday 16 – 20 hours per week
Able to cover holidays with extra hours would be useful.
