Are you an experienced Structured Cabling Engineer ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for a talented professional to play a leading role in delivering high-quality data cabling solutions for some of the UK’s most exciting commercial, industrial, and public-sector projects.

As a Senior Structured Cabling Engineer, you must want to take ownership of installations from start to finish — ensuring that every project is completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards. You’ll lead on-site teams, oversee testing and commissioning.

What You’ll Do

  • Install and terminate CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, and Fibre Optic cabling systems (singlemode and multimode).
  • Carry out Fluke DTX/DSX testing and provide accurate certification reports for client handover.
  • Plan and manage on-site installations, coordinating materials, labour, and schedules.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers and subcontractors, maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Liaise confidently with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Read and interpret drawings, plans, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure all works comply with Health & Safety regulations and ISO 9001 procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, test, and resolve technical issues as needed.

What You’ll Bring

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years’ proven experience as a Structured Cabling Engineer.
  • Skilled in installation and termination of CAT6/CAT6a and Fibre Optic cabling (including splicing and patching).
  • Proficient in Fluke DSX/DTX testing and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of cabling standards (TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC).
  • Confident in leading site teams and managing subcontractors.
  • Able to interpret drawings and method statements.
  • Full UK driving licence and CSCS/ECS card.

Desirable Qualifications

  • IPAF, PASMA, or SSSTS certification.
  • Experience in data centres, construction sites, or office fit-outs.
  • Familiarity with containment systems (trunking, tray, basket, conduit).
  • Experience with fault diagnosis and wider IT or AV systems.
