Quality Engineer / Inspector

Overview

We are recruiting or a Quality Inspector to join an expanding team.

Responsibilities – Coordinate Measurement Machines Completing and inspection of component and sub-assembly, reporting results

Main duties and responsibilities include:

Responsible for carrying out the inspection of models (assemblies sub-assemblies and individual components) in accordance with the specification given in the route cards

Knowledge of using a creaform scanning system would be an advantage, training will be given to the right applicant

Assist with the scheduling of inspection work to meet agreed project resource plans with regular communication of schedules to the Model Manufacturing Centre (MMC) Raise Concession Reports for submission and approval to Customers.

Monitor the progress and conduct training as appropriate. Lead the technical development of the inspection capability including the inspection.

Actively seek opportunities for Continuous Improvement of inspection procedures.

Welding visual inspection / CSWIP knowledge would be an advantage

Essential skills and qualifications: HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar qualification. 2 years’ experience using hand held metrology instruments precision CMM and Optical Scanning Systems.

Experience in programming CMM using PCDMIS or Metrolog software and the ability to analyse CAD manipulate datums and alignments for part inspection.

Up to £18.50 per hour – depending on experience
